Rare Fungi Challenge
project aims to document fungal species occurrence — fungi that are rarely encountered, whose presence was reported an alarmingly long time ago, or those that are widespread but have not yet been documented in Hungary; fungi whose identification is challenging but worth it. Let’s start with a widespread yet rare species, a unique one, that can help us understand the evolution of complexity.
Read the announcement.
Document the occurrence with high-quality photos.
Collect a few whole, mature fruiting bodies.
Gently dry the fruiting bodies and store them in a sealed bag in a dark place.
